RED’s hopes for 2026

As we look forward to another year of RED, we asked the team what their hopes and dreams for 2026 are. Here is what they had to say…

Nicole, Digital Marketing Director

From a work perspective, my hope is always to keep learning and evolving. Everything changes at lightning speed in digital marketing – so it’s important to keep on top of things. I started some additional CIM training last year to top up the Diploma I completed last year, and hope to continue that.

Apart from that, just keep moving forward, keep our clients happy and enjoy the work we do.

On a personal note, I hope to spend more time with family this year. My parents also move back from the USA after a five-year stint, so a lot of trips to London to visit them. My son also starts school this year, so it’d be great to get away with him and my husband  – in the UK or elsewhere – for some quality time before that starts.

Kerrie, Editorial Director

On the work front, I’m looking to spend more time out of the office at events to expand my knowledge, particularly in terms of sustainability and marketing, as well as widen my professional network in here in Yorkshire. I’m especially looking forward to The Big Brew and the next Wanderings netwalking events.

Away from work, I’m hoping I can see more live music, convince my family to take a trip to somewhere in Europe by train, and win the lottery!?

Paul, loyal football and rugby fan

Last year was tough for everyone at Planet RED, so my overriding hope is that 2026 will be a happy, healthy and safe year for the team and our loved ones.

More work-related, and I’m a great believer in our clients getting closer to their customers, by talking to them about what they think of the products and services they have invested in, as well as how they can be improved. I know that these invaluable comments (on and off camera) will continue make meaningful and impactful content for the sales and marketing departments that we have the privilege to work for.

And last but not least, I hope and pray that Manchester United, Ulster Rugby and Hull FC will see a reversal of their recent fortunes, and return to their respective glories. Plus I would like to take my family somewhere amazing on holiday after my son’s first year at uni and my daughter’s GCSEs!

Steve, Copywriter

My work hope for 2026 is that more people will realise the limitations of AI for writing (and design for that matter). Use it as a tool by all means, but check content carefully and edit thoroughly – especially for repetition, punctuation and general wordiness! There’s no substitute for the human touch.

On the personal front, I hope to get out and do more walking with my family and dog Ginger. I’m fortunate to live in a beautiful part of Yorkshire, just south of the North York Moors, that for some reason doesn’t attract the crowds. Ten minutes in the car and we’re up on the hills with empty paths and vast skies all around.
