There’s no doubt that 2024 has been enjoyable for RED, and as is customary at this time of year, we have looked back at some of the highlights from the wide range of projects that we’ve managed. Here is a festive selection from our account handling team, who reflect on their personal experiences over the past 12 months.

One of my favourite projects this year was for Royal IHC, writing a series of blogs about the development of a ground-breaking subsea vehicle, designed and manufactured in the North-East of England and bound for a customer in the US. The focus was the people behind the product and IHC wanted to use a creative approach to share the personal insights of those involved. It’s not often that you get to write about technical feats and feelings, or combine engineering accomplishments with emotions, but this project enabled us to do that. I also met many inspiring people and visited the IHC facility in Port of Blyth for the first time, so that’s why it was a professional highlight for me this year.

Among my professional highlights of the year was our trip to Verona with JLG to discuss PR for the year ahead. We also had the opportunity to meet the other European agencies and build relationships with the Hinowa and JLG teams. We’ve now gained two new clients as a result of RED’s work with the JLG team this year – POWER TOWERS LIMITED and Hinowa Spa.
It was also a highlight of mine to submit my final assignment in Digital Optimisation for CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing‘s Level 6 Diploma in Digital Marketing & Strategy.

My highlight of the year was our trip to Hillhead – International quarrying, construction + recycling show in Buxton – especially visiting Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK)‘s impressive stand and watching the live demos. The warm weather added to the enjoyable atmosphere, with Nicole and I even treating ourselves to a hotdog and ice-cream. It was the first time I had ever been to a construction exhibition and the sheer scale of the event was what really impressed me. We left with lots of useful content for both RED and our clients, and of course lots of fond memories to report back to the team.

I love a bit of content marketing, especially when it involves a customer reference visit on behalf of our clients. And 2024 has been a memorable one with projects based in (among others) Sweden, Germany and for the first time, Oman. The reason for mentioning this aspect of our work is the huge amount of help, cooperation and enthusiasm we receive everywhere we go. People always make the difference and the past 12 months has seen us not only make some new friends but also reacquaint ourselves with some old ones.
Season’s greetings
On behalf of everyone associated with RED: a sincere thank you to all of our clients and suppliers for their help, support, cooperation and friendship this year; and a very merry Christmas to you and your families and friends, and a happy and healthy new year in 2025!
