Yorkshire Day is all about celebrating everything that makes our county amazing – the scenery, the people, the history, and of course… the food! We couldn’t resist asking the RED team to share their favourite restaurants across Yorkshire – the ones we’d happily recommend to friends, clients and anyone visiting our patch of the world.

Nicole – Ambiente, Hull
I’m breaking the rules slightly here because my absolute favourite is Bundobust in Leeds (the Bundo Chaat is incredible), but I’m choosing Ambiente in Hull today.
Hull is such an underrated city, particularly the marina. I love how you can spend the day exploring The Deep, head next door for tapas and then walk across the harbour with a gelato.
We often take our three-year-old Noah with us because tapas are perfect for trying new things – and he loves choosing “lots of little plates” instead of one big meal. It’s such a relaxed, friendly place, and perfect for sharing food with friends and family.

Steve – Omni, Malton
Malton calls itself “Yorkshire’s Food Capital” for a reason, and Steve’s pick – Omni – really proves it.
Billed as “Yorkshire tapas”, the food arrives on small plates, but every dish packs a big punch.
Steve says, “It’s always perfectly executed and delicious. The informal vibe makes it a great place to just hang out, whether it’s with a well-kept pint of ale or a perfectly crafted cocktail. Plus, dogs get a biscuit or two – and that’s always a winner in my book.”

Paul – Voujon, Brough
Paul is our go-to man for an excellent Indian recommendation, and he’s been shouting about Voujon for years.
“I’ve recommended it to friends, family, clients and even suppliers from all over the UK,” says Paul.
“The warm welcome, amazing service, and consistently brilliant food and drinks keep me coming back. Plus, the team always gives a farewell handshake – it just makes you feel at home.”

Kerrie – Bricklebank’s, Chapel Allerton (Leeds)
Kerrie loves a good story, so it’s no surprise that Bricklebank’s is her favourite.
“It’s a small, cosy café and bar with delicious food and the friendliest service. It was founded by a 23-year-old just two years ago and is already award-winning – it’s even been on national TV! I love places where you can feel the passion behind every dish.”
So, there you have it – our team’s ultimate Yorkshire Day dining recommendations. Whether you’re exploring Hull’s waterfront, wandering the foodie streets of Malton, catching up with friends in Chapel Allerton, or craving a brilliant curry in Brough, we’ve got you covered.
We’re definitely hungry now… where’s the lunch menu?
