RED takes on Red January

The RED team has kick-started 2021 by taking part in the aptly named Red January for the charity Sport in Mind.

The ‘Red’ is an abbreviation for ‘run every day’. However, the event also includes other sporting activities, such as cycling, swimming or walking. It aims to get people active for their own mental and physical wellbeing, while also spreading awareness of the UK charity, Sport in Mind.

Sport in Mind uses sport and physical activity to improve the lives of people who experience mental health issues. In partnership with the NHS, it delivers programmes that help to improve physical health, combat social isolation and empower people to move their lives forward in a positive direction.

This is not only topical for the time of year – after we have indulged in Christmas festivities – and related mental issues arising from the current lockdown, but the programmes also mirror RED’s own core values of ‘support’, ‘empower’ and ‘inspire’.

So throughout the month, we’ll be keeping active by cycling, running and walking every single day – come rain or shine (mostly the former).

Stay tuned for an update on our progress later in the month.
