What’s life without a little luxury? Take for example Comitti, the sole remaining Italian builder of classical wooden boats. Founded in 1956 and located on the shores of the beautiful Lake Como, Comitti’s craftsmen build elegant contemporary models in the traditional Italian style.
However, where does RED fit into this dream-like picture? With the establishment of Comitti Boats UK & Caribbean, the owner wanted to create an engaging web presence to inspire, inform and deliver a digital engagement strategy. As part of this, Comitti Boats UK & Caribbean’s website would act as a communication hub containing marketing tools for existing and potential new customers.
Positive collaboration
RED’s role was to design, build and maintain the cornerstone of the project, the Comitti Boats UK & Caribbean website. To ensure a smooth process, RED worked collaboratively with other maritime industry professionals and digital marketing experts.
We initially developed a system to establish the brand assets and visual styling techniques. This would be used throughout the design and build of the website. Once these were agreed, the site was designed in a modular ‘mobile-first’ approach. This ensures visitors always receive an inspirational first visit.
The website was built using a custom WordPress theme developed specifically for Comitti and to work hand-in-hand with its digital marketing strategy. In addition, bold photography and video were embedded across the site to showcase the boat builder’s products at their finest.
A job well done
Our designer Matt worked on the project from start to finish. “The Comitti Boats UK & Caribbean website project was one of my first experiences of working alongside external professionals, as well as the talented RED team,” he says. “I’m really happy with how our designs have been brought to life in such an impactful and user-friendly website.”
Post-launch, the website received positive feedback with comments from Comitti such as “amazing… it draws you in to want to see more”. RED was proud to be a key part of the project and to have developed such a visually striking website. A big thank you to friends and associates of RED, Nick, Jon and Duncan, for their invaluable roles and support throughout.
