Five minutes with… Vicky

Have you met our Office Manager Vicky Harrison yet? We introduced her to the RED team last year, and now you can get to know her even better in this blog post, as part of our Five minutes with… series. We caught up with Vicky to find out more about what she likes to do in her spare time, and her highlights at RED so far.

Describe your typical day

I don’t really have a typical day – my role is extremely varied. However, it normally starts with a coffee and a brief chat with the rest of the team to plan the day ahead. I can be doing the accounts and looking after all the office administration one day, and the next I could be planning and booking travel, which often includes anything from planes to trains and automobiles.

Tell us about some of the highlights from your time at RED

Since joining RED in June 2017, I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the rest of the team, especially at the team lunches and my first Christmas at the company. I have also been fortunate to welcome some of our clients to RED, which has been excellent and allowed me to put faces to names.

How would you describe your approach to work?

No two days are the same, so I take each day as it comes. Due to this, I have to be flexible and prioritise my workload. I therefore have to be organised with a ‘to do’ list to work through. I also try to keep the rest of the team happy by ensuring we are always stocked up with tea, coffee and biscuits!

What do you do to relax?

I enjoy days out with family and socialising with friends, and I try and go to the gym whenever I can. I also love to travel and have been to some amazing places, including the Maldives.

What advice would you give to someone who’s interested in a similar position?

You need to have a broad range of skills as the work is varied. You also need to be enthusiastic and keen to learn new things, and should also be adaptable to change. A good sense of humour always helps too!
