It’s not every day you visit an Asian country, let alone one so big that it’s the ninth largest place on the planet and covers more ground than the whole of Western Europe. Forgetting about the obvious links to Borat, Kazakhstan is famed for its vast natural resources. RED was there to visit two amazing mines: SSGPO and Shubarkol Komir

The RED team makes a racket on the tennis court

The RED team has been making the most of the sunny weather and honing their tennis skills – or lack of – at The Tennis Academy, South Cave. Would Andy Lynch prove to be a winner like his namesake Murray? Or is he no match for Matt? Maybe one of the Kerries is hiding a mean backhand, or Paul’s deep

A life less ordinary

Having previously stayed at a mine in Kyrgyzstan some 4,000m above sea level, I felt that I was relatively well prepared for my latest overnight stay in a remote part of Kazakhstan. Help and hospitality in Budapest

A huge RED thank you to Hungary’s authorised Hitachi dealer, MPH Építögép Kft, and in particular the company’s co-owners István Mándity and Krisztián Pölz.
