I had the pleasure of flying to Prague for a work trip full of firsts. As well as my first time visiting that beautiful city, it was a welcome opportunity to see our client’s airport logistic automation in action.
RED’s mission was to create marketing content about Vanderlande’s baggage handling systems, which have been installed in two terminals. My task was to interview airport personnel as we set about creating reference videos and a complementary written case study.
It was fascinating to take peek inside the inner workings of an airport. One thing that really struck me was the security, which we are all familiar with when we fly off on holiday. Moving from “landside” to “airside”, we had to go through that familiar screening procedure – putting shoes, laptops and phones in tubs, as well as removing anything made of metal. This happened many times, so to speed things up, I didn’t bother wearing a belt on day two!
Despite these necessary and well-observed precautions, everyone we met was welcoming and friendly. A particular shout-out goes to BHS engineer Vit, who patiently acted as our guide as we roamed through the airport. I would also like to thank our client, Ariane. Her knowledge and insights were indispensable as I completed my first airport shoot.
And what about Prague? The city was certainly as engaging as its reputation, and I look forward to my next visit.
